My Narrative

The countless hours I spent sketching, fishing, and hiking with my family as a child fostered a deep-rooted passion for wildlife and the great outdoors. I carried this passion with me as I pursued a Bachelor of Arts degree from UCLA and completed my post-graduate studies at the Exeter College of Art and Design in Exeter, England. ​Following my formal education, I participated in numerous juried art exhibitions but over time turned to children's books. I have since written and illustrated over seventy books, fiction and nonfiction. In addition, I’ve worked as a decorative painter and muralist for over twenty-five years.​ Since moving to the Treasure Valley and becoming an Idaho Master Naturalist and member of the Plein Air Painters of Idaho, I’ve found new inspiration in the wilds of this beautiful state as well as in travel abroad. I continue to explore new avenues for my art and writing and feel extremely lucky to love what I do and even luckier that I can share it with others.
